US games sales drop 10 percent, Madden NFL 24 top dog in August NPD
After months of more than expected year-over-year sales decreases and a decline in sales, the US game industry was granted some relief in July. It saw revenue decline by just one percent. However, the reprieve came to an end in August, as per figures published today by NPD Group today.
According to the industry-research firm, the overall US non-PC retail sales of games fell 10 percent over the month, to $818.9 million. Hardware fell five percent, from $282.9 millions, while software fell fourteen percent, to $403.5 million, while accessories dropped 6 per cent in value to $132.4 million.
Madden 24 was a runner-up in the retail sales industry exhausted but triumphant.
